Re your item on today's programme (9/ll/08) about Churchill's Wartime Auxilliary Units. These were known more commonly as Churchill's Scallywags as he called them because apart from law abiding land workers and gamekeepers that lived on the land they also included poachers and their ilk - hence scallywags.

I watched todays countryfile and was interested in the news about the decline in bees. I have had some bees in the last few weeks take up residence in a disused blue tit box (next to one being used by nesting birds)Has anyone any advice about anything I should or should not do in this situation I would appreciate it as it has not happened before.

As a volunteer at Beck Isle museum in Pickering N. Yorks I also am a keen fan of Countryfile. Following our recent severe flooding we plan to have a photography competition asking people to take pictures based on themes set by the famous Sidney Smith collection of which we are the custodians. We and the locality would dearly love to have a celebrity judge on board and I wondered if I could be cheeky enough to ask wether John Craven, Ben Fogle or Simon King would be prepared to offer there assistance to a much needed cause.

    Yours in hope
