Cash in the Celebrity Attic - a spin-off of the successful daytime antiques show Cash In The Attic - begins today. The programme follows a number of stars from the worlds of entertainment and sport, accompanied by friends or family members, as they rummage for hidden treasures around their homes. Their antiques and mementoes will be sold at auction to raise money for the stars' nominated charities.
Celebrities range from Brian Conley to Toyah Willcox, Donal McIntyre, Anneka Rice, John McCririck, Nick Hancock and Michael Winner. Macmillan Cancer Support, Water Aid, Born Free and Mencap are among the registered beneficiaries.
Today's opening programme features comedian, actor and singer Brian Conley, who has collected memorabilia that belongs to the comedy greats. As well as auctioning some of his goodies, Brian is up for serenading the bidders with an Al Jolson classic. He's raising money for a very special children's charity, the Helen House Hospice. The show is presented by Gloria Hunniford, with expert advice from Jonty Hearnden.
