The critics have been most impressed with this dramatic episode, in which a tornado hits Wisteria Lane, forcing residents to take cover in basements, cellars and safe rooms. Described as "corking" and "a breath of fresh air", much of the proceedings unfold as a long flashback, and one of the cast departs... permanently.
As the tornado comes in, Susan discovers how bad Mike's drug habit has become and ends up at the hospital after falling down the stairs, Lynette and her family take refuge at a neighbour's house and Gaby makes it plain to Edie that she's unimpressed with Carlos's financial dealings. Meanwhile Bree (Marcia Cross, pictured, right) tries to play the Good Samaritan.
