Disquieting and disturbing, JJ Abrams's latest series continues to explain the seemingly unexplainable.
This instalment revolves around the appearance of a mysterious cylinder. When a deadly explosion rocks a construction site in New York City, the only thing to emerge unscathed is the cylinder. Despite being at the centre of the devastation, the object remains unblemished.
An understandably suspicious Philip Broyles (Lance Reddick) enlists the aid of our far from tight-knit trio to investigate. Scientific researcher Dr Walter Bishop (John Noble, pictured, far right) does what he does best, carrying out an array of bizarre tests. Unhinged as he may be, there is no doubting his genius. Meanwhile, his estranged son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson, pictured, left) is forced to partake in a spot of field duty. And proving that she has brains as well as beauty, FBI special agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv, pictured) uncovers a correlation between a string of perturbing events and the enigmatic cylinder.
