Be it the ice-cold Arctic or a barren mountain peak, suffocating swampland or scorched desert, animal life survives in the harshest environments and Animal Planet is on a mission to find out how. In Too Deep sees presenter, journalist and wildlife enthusiast, Jamie Crawford (pictured) travelling through the world's harshest climates and terrains in search of the most intriguing animal adaptations.

This series highlights the brilliance of evolution's adaptations, demonstrated through the frailties of the human body. Jamie really will be In Too Deep struggling physically and mentally with the challenges of the wild, while trying to visually demonstrate amazing animal capabilities with quirky homemade devices and extreme stunts.

These stunts include Jamie attempting to mimic the cartwheeling spider in the arid Namib desert, which has the capacity to cartwheel down the sand dunes at up to an incredible 44 revolutions per second, exploring how leeches can suck blood in Borneo and discovering how strong the electric shock is produced by an electric eel in the Amazon. From avoiding deadly predators to finding food, the challenges animals face are global, while the solutions evolution has devised are local. Jamie travels far and wide in search of the ultimate animal adaptations.
