Steven Spielberg's highly rated futuristic action thriller is set in Washington in the year 2054. Murder has been eliminated. The guilty are punished before the crime has ever been committed using the imagery seen by three "Pre-Cogs" - psychic beings whose visions of murder have never been wrong.

It is the nation's most advanced crime force, a perfect system, and no-one works harder for Precrime than its top man, Chief John Anderton (Tom Cruise). He has no reason to doubt its perfection... until he becomes its number-one suspect.

Did you know? The opening sequence is a homage to film director Alfred Hitchcock. The scissors are from Dial M for Murder (1954), the eye glasses: Strangers on a Train (1951), and the prolonged shot of the eye: Psycho (1960).
