Start of a new series that gets to the heart of Britain's fishing communities and celebrates the landscape, the people and seafood that they produce.
Restaurateur and fishmonger Mitch Tonks (pictured) and World Cup-winning rugby player Matt Dawson pack up their camper van for the seafood trip of a lifetime. With Tonks, an experienced catcher and cooker of fish and Dawson, a keen amateur sometimes confused by the mixed messages about fish and the fishing industry, the pair will travel up and down the British coastline in order to wash away the myths and the unlock the secrets from the sea.
And they're not afraid to get their hands dirty either - they head out into the water, visit fish markets and fish farms and find themselves catching wild salmon, fishing for shrimp from the back of a tractor and taking part in a junior sea angling competition.
From Cromer to Cornwall, Tonks and Dawson are determined to follow fish and seafood from the sea to the plate with everything they catch becoming the inspiration for tasty dishes. Back on dry land, the pair will be cooking traditional and modern fish dishes - mackerel teriyaki skewers and mussels in sweet and sour chilli sauce, to herby baked scallops and smoothound with rosemary and anchovy butter.
