Sue Barker introduces further Olympic action from the Bird's Nest Stadium this afternoon. One of today's big highlights will be the men's 10m platform diving final. If he gets through to it, 14-year-old Tom Daley (pictured) could make history by becoming Great Britain's youngest-ever medallist at the Games.
Athletics
It's the last day of competition in track and field, with seven gold medals up for grabs today. Blanka Vlasic is favourite for her first Olympic high jump gold, while 800m runner Abubaker Kaki Khamis is vying to become the first Olympic champion from war-torn Sudan. Kenenisa Bekele will start favourite in the 5,000m, provided he feels no ill-effects from the 10,000m, and the USA will be the team to beat in both the men's and women's 4 x 400m relays.
The athletics timetable is as follows:
12.00noon women's high jump final 12.10pm men's javelin final 12.30pm men's 800m final 12.50pm women's 1,500m final 1.10pm men's 5,000m final 1.40pm women's 4 x 400m final 2.05pm men's 4 x 400m final
Boxing
Five gold medals are up for grabs in the Beijing Workers' Gymnasium this afternoon. Having come to these Games with an impressive squad of eight boxers, will Great Britain be celebrating success today?
The boxing timetable is as follows:
12.00noon flyweight final 12.35pm featherweight final 1.10pm light-welterweight final 1.45pm middleweight final 2.20pm heavyweight final
There is also news of the progress of Sarah Stevenson in the finals of the women's +67kg taekwondo.
Diving
It's the men's 10m platform final today. Tom Daley, just 14, is attempting to create history by becoming Great Britain's youngest-ever medallist at the Games. Having won the European Championship earlier this year, there is no doubting that he's good enough. Chinese favourite Zhou Luxin is, however, the one to beat. Coverage starts from 2.45pm.
Basketball
There are highlights of the women's basketball finals this afternoon. Four years ago, USA beat Australia 74-63 to win the gold with the bronze going to Russia after a 71-62 defeat of Brazil.
Hockey
It is 20 years since that golden moment in Seoul when Great Britain won the gold in the hockey competition. It's unlikely, however, that Team GB will feature this time but their opponents then, Germany, are now ranked world number one. Will they improve on their 2004 bronze medal status? Reigning Olympic Champions Australia are ranked second with Athens runners-up Netherlands ranked third.
Table tennis
The men's singles finals take place today and the favourite is China's Wang Liqin - world champion and bronze medallist four years ago.
Volleyball
It's the women's final in the volleyball competition. Four years ago, China ended a run of Cuban domination and beat Russia in five sets.
I thought he commentary for the opening ceremony was appaling. It was like being at a wonderful opera sat next to 3 idiots talking over the beautiful music. Subtitles would have been vastly superior.
The highlight program, my fist attempt to see the ceremony only provided minimal coverage. I believe Sir Redgrave got more time. The recording of the full ceremony, which repeat was very welcome was so marred by the commentators. Their commentary was laughable at times. 'It's worth mentioning'
