TV presenter Kate Garraway (pictured) - herself the mother of a two-year-old daughter - investigates the pros and cons of cross-feeding, breast-milk donation and wet-nursing. During her investigation she meets some of the growing numbers of women who share each other's milk.
"I'm on a journey to find people who believe milk has to be from the breast," says Garraway, "people who buy it, sell it, people who give it away and people who even feed each other's babies. To many this might seem weird, but they challenge us that it's actually much weirder to give our babies cows' milk than it is to drink milk from another woman. It's a journey I won't forget in a hurry."
The people Garraway meets include sisters who cross-feed their babies; women who are able to breast-feed even though they have never been pregnant; surrogate mothers who produce two gallons of milk a week for donation; and a cancer sufferer who believes breast milk has cured his condition.
This is the final film in G-Spot, the female-led documentary strand of intelligent and provocative films, investigating a range of topical issues that impact on how women live now.
After watching the man on this programme talk about using breast milk to cure his cancer i'm looking for someone (in the UK) to sell me breast milk to aid my own health concern (v severe M.E.) I hope someone out their is willing to help! I'm in Derbyshire

Hello,
I missed this programme, but have been searching the web for help in this area, to no avail.
I am very interested in finding someone in the UK who would be prepared to sell us breast milk. We are having a baby girl in December via a wonderful friend in California. We will be coming home in January with our daughter. I have not carried this baby and have been advised not to attempt lactation ( long story) but I would like to give our baby the best start possible. We live in Herefordshire, so someone local would be ideal, but not necessary. Any ideas if this is possible? Our 7 year old daughter was never breast-fed as she was adopted at 9 months from overseas and was in an orphanage up until we brought her home. She is beautiful and thriving, but has seemed to have had more than her fair share of childhood illnesses. The more I read about breast milk the more it makes me wonder if this is why. I hope you can help.
Thank you for your time.
Best wishes
Debbie
